Bournemouth sign goalkeeper Forster on free transfer

Latest from Your Site News' Mark McAdam:

Bournemouth have signed free agent Fraser Forster on a six-month deal to add goalkeeping cover to Andoni Iraola's squad.

The 37-year-old will be in Saturday's squad to face Arsenal in the Premier League, live on Your Site.

The ex-Celtic goalkeeper has been available since leaving Tottenham in the summer.

Bournemouth's number two, Will Dennis, was injured in training this week, with the club waiting to find out the extent of the injury.

Iraola not focused on Chelsea rumours

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola did not want to be drawn into rumours linking him to the vacant job at Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca left Chelsea on New Year's Day and the Cherries boss has been linked to the role.

However, Iraola admits he is focused on turning round Bournemouth's form - with the club currently on a ten-match winless run.

"I am very happy here," said Iraola. "My issue is not about these things, its about solving a little bit, wanting to improve the situation right now in this run.

"We still have a decent amount of points but in a situation where its costing us to win games, drawing a lot of games. This is my worry, this is what my focus is on."

Liverpool sign Bergstrom

Liverpool Women have completed the signing of Alice Bergstrom from BK Hacken of Sweden, for an undisclosed fee.

The versatile 22-year-old joins the WSL side, subject to international clearance and a work permit, after helping her former team to the Damallsvenskan title in November.

Bergstrm becomes the first addition of the January window for Gareth Taylors team and put pen to paper on a deal at the AXA Melwood Training Centre following the completion of her medical on Merseyside.

She told Liverpoolfc.com: Im really excited, Ive been waiting a long time so its nice to be here. Im really impressed by everything, the pitches are so nice here, and I think Im going to be fine here.

Bergstrm joins fellow Swedes Cornelia Kapocs and current top scorer Beata Olsson.

Man City target Semenyo will play vs Arsenal, says Iraola

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has said Antoine Semenyo will play against Arsenal tomorrow, live on Your Site - but could not confirm if it will be his last match for the Cherries.

Manchester City are in advanced talks with Bournemouth over their star forward - but Iraola has said "nothing is signed" and he could even play in next week's game against Tottenham too.

Yes, Antoine is going to play in this match, said Iraola on Friday.

Asked if it will be his last match for Bournemouth: No, no. I think the idea at least that hes going to be available in these two home games in a short turnaround. I hope he can be here for more time. But I dont know whats going to be happen.

Thats not the idea [that it's Semenyo's last match]. The market is open, you never know whats going to happen. I cannot control things, but right now I dont think so.

There is nothing signed. For sure there are conversations, I understand the noise around but Antoine is our player. I hope to keep him for a lot of time, I want to keep him for a lot of time. But I dont know whats going to happen.

Hes playing very well. Hes doing the right things, a top professional and top guy. He wants to help the team and team-mates, I have no doubts that he will do his best, there are no doubts with him.

Asked if Semenyo wants to leave, Iraola replied: You have to ask him, I dont know. I know what I want. Antoine is behaving really, really well. There is a lot of noise around him, hes been a top professional. I think he will be until the last day.

Obviously hes been a massive player for us. Not only this season, but everyone has to give their best. If we lose Antoine, its going to be a massive hit. You have to move on. Football is like this.

We are not going to lose him for nothing. If we lose him, its because the club agrees its a good deal.

Spurs defender goes on loan with Soloman set for switch

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Tottenham centre-back Kota Takai has joined Borussia Monchengladbach on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old Japan international has flown to the training camp in Belek and will train with the team for the first time this afternoon.

Meanwhile, according to Sky in Italy, Spurs winger Manor Solomon is expected to undergo a medical with Fiorentina ahead of a switch of loans.

Solomon was on loan at Villarreal but had hardly played and is now poised to move to the Italian club on a deal that also includes an option to buy him permanently.

Fullkrug joins AC Milan on loan

West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug has joined AC Milan on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the transfer permanent.

The German centre-forward moves to Italy having made 29 appearances and scoring three goals since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024.

Howe: We have to be 'really careful' over making January signings

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe says his side have to be "really careful" over making January signings as it will impact their summer business, with the Magpies having to negotiate profitability and sustainability rules.

Asked if he could make a marquee signing this month if he chose, he replied: Marquee signing, I dont know quite what that means I suppose youre talking big financial outlay?

I dont think thats the desire in this month for various reasons, because I dont think its a great month necessarily to make that kind of signing.

Any signing that we do make in this window will restrict our ability to do business in the summer, so I think weve got to be really careful that we make the right decisions for the here and now and for the future.

Were still in that position where PSR will influence every decision that we make, so thats where we have to be really smart.

I dont think thats necessarily the wish in this month, but I think our injury situation to a degree will impact what we do and dont do.

Solomon pictured in Fiorentina kit ahead of reported loan move from Spurs

Manor Solomon has been pictured in a Fiorentina kit ahead of his reported loan move from Tottenham.

The winger is set to join Serie A's bottom side, having spent the first half of this season on loan at Villarreal.

The Israel international made 11 appearances in all competitions for the LaLiga side, scoring just once.

But he is now set to swap Spain for Italy for the second half of the season in a deal which reportedly has an option to make the move permanent.

Palace have to register Johnson signing by midday if he is to face Newcastle

Crystal Palace must register Brennan Johnson by midday today if he is to be available for Sunday's Premier League game at Newcastle, live on Your Site.

It is understood that Palace are now close to completing the signing of Johnson from Tottenham for 35m.

The Wales international is believed to have been having a medical with Palace in the last 24 hours.

But if the 24-year-old is to make his Eagles debut this weekend, then Palace have to register him ahead of today's midday deadline.

Celtic sign Araujo from Bournemouth on loan

Celtic have signed defender Julian Araujo from Bournemouth on loan until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old becomes Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy's first signing.

The Mexico international is available for Saturday's Old Firm, live on Your Site, and could make his debut against Rangers at Celtic Park.

Araujo said: I am really happy to join Celtic. This is a top club and I cant wait to get going and work hard with the other players to bring our fans success.

I know the demands at a club like Celtic, and I am ready for these. Im looking forward to the challenges ahead and I want to play my part in bringing good times and good, winning football to our supporters.

I have met the boys already. We have some great players in the squad and we are all ready to tackle the second half of the season and do as much as we can for the fans.

Nancy added: He is a really talented player with a good level of experience and we think the qualities he will bring will be really beneficial to the squad.
